    Just a Few Degrees

Lightly guide people when you have the chance. Those blind in the dark rarely take large steps if any at all. Big, forceful pushes tend to have them retreating in the opposite direction. You won’t be there to hold their hand the entire way (nor will they probably let you if you tried) so nudge them towards the right path however little it may be. Small course corrections, a few degrees at a time, can be the difference between finding the light… or blindly walking off a cliff.

    Expired Chains

here is an old wive’s tale that says elephants as calves, are secured with small ropes and sticks that effectively hold them in place. Even after growing into powerful adults capable of breaking free, they never attempt an escape because they remain conditioned to believe that the restraints will still hold them back.

While most agree this tale is largely anecdotal for elephants, it is 100% true for people. The beliefs that restricted you when you were younger may very well be a mere illusion. Re-evaluate the limitations that prevent you from being your ideal self, one tiny stick and rope at a time.

    Just a Little Mud

We all start off the same but get a little dirty along the way.  Too many of us waste our lives decorating the dirt with nonsense.  Never forget, it’s just a little mud, and everyone was already maximally beautiful.  Choose to let that shine, not cover up the gunk.

    The Battleground

It’s easy to bask in the blessings of your life and not worry about the limiting parts. It’s similarly as simple to accept the dark areas and make no effort to address it. The difference for positive change happens in the battleground. Get comfortable being uncomfortable. It is there, where the limitations of your full potential exist for both you and others.

    The Strong Carry the Most

Being strong comes with a responsibility to carry a heavier load for the common good.

Having strength just for just for one’s ego or other selfish reasons is simply a waste.

    Be strong for others.

Life is a Song Part III

    Life is a song…

Our interaction with ourselves and others is the music of the world.

The first step is to be true to yourself – this is your instrument.

The second step is to find the group of people that bring out the best in you and you in them – this is your band.

And last but not least… Listen to the unfamiliar sounds around you. The beautiful music of the world is not limited to what you and your tribe produce. It surrounds us all and is meant to be enjoyed and even inspirational for your own music. All it takes is a willing ear and an open heart.

Life is a Song Part II

Be your true self.  That is your soul’s instrument.  Love playing it and there is guaranteed to be a group of kind people who need your song.  So frequently people play their instrument with the wrong group, or even worse change their instrument to fit better.  Be on the lookout for where your song will be the most appreciated.  Often times it is not with the band we were born or grew up with.

    Inner Family

Therapists often refer to the “inner child” that is integral to our bad behaviors and undesired emotions. Many believe that it is not just a single “child” but rather multiple children. Each one representing a major traumatic experience from our youth, generally from infancy to our teenage years. One child may make you shy, one may make you fearful, while another may make you aggressive. This collection of your many inner children is sometimes described by some professionals as your inner family. Each member of your internal family has a different boogey man, and each need healing.

    The Collective

A simple concept. Do good and look after the people around you. If they do the same, and the person after them…. This is the line that moves mountains, builds empires, and protects peace.
